These are my Pacific Patterns and we had to pick 5 patterns from that country so I picked:
Maori:
Pakati- Dog skin cloak, representative of warriors/battles/courage and strength.
Niue:
Manulua- Can either represent a bird or a flower. Bringing two groups or families together to form a new union.
Samoa:
Fa'a 'au'upega / Net- This design symbolizes the nets used in catching pidgeons and turtles.
Tonga:
Amoamokofe- Meaning rubbing with a bamboo stick.
Cook Island:
Mangaia wrist tattoo pattern, Cook Islands, Te Rangihiroa, 1911
Hi Emeline, your art work is amazing well done!I really like your meaning for the Niuean piece of art "Manulua" - bringing two groups together to form a union. Keep being amazing.
